Wild Wool Workshop
I attended a workshop to make Herdwick sheep key rings.
It was totally amazing! I can’t believe I produced the key ring that significantly looked like a Herdwick!!! The course was relaxing educational & lots of fun!
Susan welcome us into her amazing Wild Woollen Barn workshop. Her skills are endless explaining everything in detail & answering questions with a great passion.
Definitely a re visit! Would recommend
Wild Wool Barn and Campsite
We have just returned from an amazing stay at the barn.We booked the camping too. Stunning views and sitting under the shelter in the evening with friends having a BBQ. Laughing and not having to worry so much about disturbing fellow campers, because there weren't any!
The spot was perfect for walking, or head down to the lake with your paddle board if you've got one. Loads of mountain biking if that's your thing.
No wi fi for us which was refreshing and meant we played board games and read instead.
We strolled along the lake to the local pub and wobbled back again.
I am sure you are convinced by now.....
Occasionally you come across a site that is special. This is one of them! We camped at Wild Wool Barn while supporting our son on the fourth day of his continuous 15 day circuit of all 214 Wainwight Peaks. We received a fantastic welcome from Susan and Mark and enjoyed the splendid facilities. Unfortunately our itinerary meant that we had to move on after just one day, but we will certainly return. Comfortable, quiet, calm and peaceful with great views and access to the lake and hills. Where else could you find all that in the Lake District?
I’ve watched this barn evolve over time into something quite special. This beautiful old building has been tastefully transformed through lots of hard work into a lovely holiday retreat. The rustic Lakeland character of the barn is retained throughout and complimented with modern yet subtle furnishings for a comfortable stay. A luxury ‘camping barn’ in my view! This great location in Ennerdale offers that much sought after ‘away from it all experience’ to explore the valley, yet not too far from the local village and neighbouring places in the Western Lakes.
Small, Quiet, Friendly and a beautiful location.
Staying at the wild wool barn was a very enjoyable experience, with its stunning views of the fells that surround Ennerdale water and of the lake it’s self, the warm and friendly owners, Susan and Mark and the clean and well presented facilities it was a great place to stay with friends and their children.
I would definitely recommend and look forward to going back next summer.
